Euro Office

1. Your Microsoft Alternative

The EU, along with some very big EU cloud companies, have banded together to build an alternative to Microsoft Office. It's called Euro Office.

I installed it early this morning and, I have to say, it's remarkably fantastic. For a product which was released just yesterday, I couldn't be happier. I have the Nextcloud Version installed and it really feels like a mix of Microsoft Office and Google Docs combined (links not provided because they can fuck right off).

Micoroft has been especially naughty as it has apparently disregarded the privacy and independence of certain people that the Trump administration has deemed to be "threats" of some sort against its policies. I suppose they haven't really had a choice, however, because of the Cloud Act - an American law which forces any tech company to automatically comply with spying for, what is now, a completely fascist government.

Therefore, another piece of the puzzle in my own quest for tech sovereignty falls into place.

If you're at all concerned with privacy, and not enabling a fascist government to get their hands on all of your information, I highly recommend using Euro Office. And if you click on the first link, you will be able to see all of the participants in this joint venture which, so far, looks pretty polished and very easy to use.
