I'm finally set up
1. A little server update
I'm finally set up. It's been an incredible ride. I'll have to update my page on getting off of the American Tech Stack. I know that many others have been documenting their progress on their own blogs. I have set up full services for myself, my family, and my friends. Some are slowly adopting it while others have adopted certain features very quickly.
It is, to be honest, quite impressive what is available in the land of FOSS once you get off of the big American tech platforms. Not only do you have more control, you can do more things - things you could never do while sticking with them and relying on them for everything. They've been "making it easy" for the "average person" for far too long now and, in doing so, taken complete control of our entire lives. It appears that there is a sort of awakening right now. I don't mean the average person in the street although, undoubtedly they know that they are far too dependent on all of these "products", but at least in the global tech community. We'll have to see where it leads in the future.
As for myself, I intend to keep my own independence and offer my help to those who need it if they are willing to try to do the same thing or, at least, separate themselves in part.
